I’m amazed at how blessed I am.
Between counseling sessions, business meetings, editing papers, and writing or translating books, I still find time to enjoy a good lunch hour. Today, I was greeted by the sight of beautiful cherry blossoms and surrounded by colleagues who are making a real difference in their own lives.
I spoke with an architect—a very busy man, needless to say. Yet, every time we meet, he takes a moment to affirm me, reminding me that my work with dropouts, NEETs, and hikikomori truly matters. Despite his schedule, his words are always intentional and kind. He doesn’t just treat me well—he genuinely cares for my students, especially those who don’t easily find a place in the world. He understands them, and that means everything to me. I treasure these moments.
Later, I discussed a big, ambitious plan with a group of distinguished people. As we talked, I saw the passion and vision in their hearts—and my own heart quietly agreed: anything is possible when we come together with unity and purpose.
God is truly at work.
