Chaa’s Diary: April 22nd, 2025

Today, I exchanged emails with a professor about supporting NEETs as they take their first steps into society. Here’s an example I shared:

We offer personalized support within a structured, team-based environment.

There’s a young man—let’s call him Hero—who once couldn’t be in groups and wore a large mask to hide his face. After years alone in his room, he now wants to work and live independently. At Quietude, he started in a room near a walkway to get used to daily sounds, then moved on to jobs that required interacting with others—like changing tires and trimming apple trees. Now, he works comfortably with a small team.

Our students meet and learn from a wide range of professionals—business owners, teachers, firefighters, and more—through Q&A sessions and workplace visits, helping them envision new futures beyond isolation.
This evening, we cleaned an apartment together, flipping tatami and prepping for DIY flooring. It was hard work, but exciting!

If our work inspires you, please consider supporting us. Thank you!
